SAP BW Consultant

- Recognised as a technical expert with extensive hands on knowledge of SAP BW. Expert experience with all BW tools specifically to implement sophisticated BW solutions.
- Perform complex BW configuration and analyst roles reporting to the Project Manager on large projects. Ability to take the lead responsibilities on smaller assignments.
- Responsible for the successful delivery of the BW technical solutions.
- Develop & maintain specialist expertise in one or more areas of BW. Actively shares this knowledge with the project team and general BW community.
- Participate or lead in business requirements gathering, analysis, detailed design, technical architecture, and implementation & support activities.
- Participate in complex technical problem solving for project & support teams.
- Provide expertise in at least one R/3 process (e.g. FI, SD, MM, CRM etc.) and actively seek to provide clients with expert advice around this area
- Provide Lead Consult duties for Financial planning, budgeting, consolidation type projects.
Core Experience (must have):
- 3+ years hands on experience of implementation and configuration of SAP BW gained within at least 3 full project life cycles – Scoping, analysis, blueprint, realisation, go live, post go live support.
- Additional SAP functional or technical experience in non BW applications. (R/3 application knowledge in at least one module – including an understanding of the data structures, and common reporting requirements/tools)
- Expert hands on BW configuration skills covering custom requirements and standard business content. Including: o Enhancement of extractors (standard, generic)
- Excellent business knowledge and analytical skills through working in industry & implementing BW solutions o Specifically covering reporting requirements analysis and ability to suggest best practice and reporting gaps to clients.
- Technical competence – ability to specify and ABAP coding
- Excellent written and oral communication & presentation skills
- Good team player with a high degree of intelligence and integrity who understands and thrives in a creative, innovative, entrepreneurial and flexible environment.
o Modelling & creation of custom architecture including
o Query creation (Excel & Web)
o Global Data Warehousing concepts including the enterprise data warehouse, data integration, common master data
Specialist Experience (must have):
- Specialist planning skills with BPC. In addition, experience with IP would be beneficial.
Additional Experience (nice to have):
- Team lead consulting skills including o Customer relationships & expectation setting
- Hands on experience of other BI products such as Business Objects XI, Cognos 8 + Planning
- Business Process / Industry expertise e.g. Banking, Energy, Construction, Electronics, etc
o Responsible for delivery of full solution in specific projects or project areas (including change management)
