Consultancy Responsibilities:
- Minimum 5 years work experience, 3 years in BI/DW consulting
- Able to offer project leadership/customer relationship management/team building skills
- Able to mentor junior consultants
- Experience of banking/FS
- All Consultants will be required to travel and work on clients sites therefore mobility and flexibility is essential.
Internal Responsibilities:
- Participate in company/technical meetings
- Attend internal and external training and development events, workshops and skills transfer sessions as required
- Keep abreast of the latest industry / technology developments under guidance of Technical Management
- Liaise with Sales, Marketing, Finance and HR functions as required
Experience/Qualifications:
Consultants must demonstrate exposure/experience of the Microstrategy Business Intelligence offerings and at must have the following skills:
- Microstrategy 8 and 9 Platforms
- Microstrategy Service Modules, User Interfaces and Development Tools
- Able to install, configure and develop Microstrategy solutions
- Good hands on experience with one or more databases such as Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server and DB2
- PL/SQL or T/SQL skills preferable but not essential
- General knowledge of RDBMS, OLAP, client/server, and web/internet technologies
- Detailed knowledge of SQL, data-warehouse design and optimization i.e. Dimensional Modelling
- Understanding and ability to communicate and manage the methodology for successful BI/DW implementation and deployment
- Experience with additional Business Intelligence tools: Cognos, Business Objects, etc.
- Experience with one or more ETL tools: Informatica, BODI, DataStage, DTS, or Oracle Warehouse
Any of the following skills would be beneficial to the role:
- Cognos BI and Financial Performance Management
- Business Objects XI (Deski, Webi, Designer, CMC, Xcelsius)
- MS BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS)
- MS Proclarity, Performance Point Server (MOPPS), Sharepoint Server (MOSS)
- Oracle BIEE
My client has customers based across the UK so travel flexibility is essential and, as such, this role can be alligned to any one of their network of 6 offices. Suitable locations for a Consultant's home could be London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh.
